Stobart Air (Dublin International) will abandon its Shannon base operations during 2015 Ireland's Clare Herald has revealed. Though the carrier has yet to officially confirm the move, the newspaper claims staff have been informed of the decision with options to either transfer to Stobart's Dublin International primary hub or to take redundancy.

At present, Stobart's Shannon services include flights to Birmingham, GB, Bristol International, and Edinburgh operating as Aer Lingus Regional under a franchise agreement with Aer Lingus (EI, Dublin International). The airline's operations in Shannon have come under pressure from an aggressive Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) whose launch of Manchester International flights last month is believed to have been the main reason for Stobart's decision to pull out of the route.
