Air India (AI, Delhi International) has received compensation from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) over claims related to performance issues with its fleet of B787-8s.

"For prolonged grounding of Dreamliners, Air India has received compensation from Boeing on mutually acceptable terms," Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Mahesh Sharma, told India's Economic Times.

Though the exact figure was not disclosed, reports in October had pointed to Boeing settling on USD24million - half what the airline had originally sought.

The claims range from costs incurred as a result of constant aircraft downtime, damage to reputation, as well as discrepancies in the jet's actual performance compared to that stated by the manufacturer.
