Ukraine International Airlines (PS, Kyiv Boryspil) is set to resume services to the eastern cities of Kharkiv and Dnipro after Ukrainian authorities rescinded a decision to close the airports there late last week. Kiev at the time blamed "security concerns" for their closure.

Once all measures are in place, Zaporizhzhia is expected to also reopen on Saturday, December 20.

Given the current standoff with Russia, it is currently uncertain as to whether or not the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine (SAAU) will lift a ban on Russian airlines serving the cities, located less than 225km from the frontline.
