Republic Airlines (Indianapolis International) parent, Republic Airways Holdings, will place the fifty E175s awarded to it by United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) in September last year with Shuttle America (Fort Wayne International) and not Republic as previously announced.

In an internal memo to employees, management said that while the company would like to consolidate all operations into a single Republic Airlines certificate eventually, the Shuttle America certificate offered "the greatest flexibility and opportunity" to crews for this type of flying. Shuttle America last year absorbed sister carrier Chautauqua Airlines (Indianapolis International) as part of the process.

Republic expects its first EMB-175 to be delivered in July this year with all fifty to be in service by August 2017. The first ten jets are slated to operate for and on behalf of United Express out of New York Newark and Chicago O'Hare.
