Darwin Airline (Lugano) has announced massive route network cuts earlier today that will leave the regional carrier operating as Etihad Regional with more or less its core network prior to its expansion plans announced following the adaptation of the Etihad Regional brand last year.

From the end of March, the Swiss regional carrier will drop its routes from Zurich to Dresden, Florence Peretola and Leipzig/Halle, from Dresden to Vienna, from Leipzig/Halle to Amsterdam Schiphol and Paris CDG as well as from Geneva to Bordeaux Mérignac and Marseilles.

It will also not launch previously announced routes from Dresden to Amsterdam and Brussels National, from Leipzig/Halle to Brussels and Geneva, from Zurich to Prague Václav Havel and Venice Marco Polo leaving it with a network of just some year round routes from Geneva and seasonal summer services during the high season.

From Geneva, Etihad Regional will retain its year round routes to Florence Peretola, Lugano, Rome Fiumicino, Valencia Manises, Venice Marco Polo and Zurich.
