Cebu Pacific Air (5J, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) says it has signed a forward sale agreement with US budget carrier Allegiant Air (G4, Las Vegas Harry Reid) involving six A319-100s. Delivery of the aircraft to Allegiant is scheduled to run from later this year through 2016.

"This agreement is in line with Cebu's efforts to continuously improve operational efficiency by replacing and upgrading our fleet with the larger, more fuel efficient, and longer range A321neo aircraft," Lance Gokongwei, CEBU President and CEO, said in a prepared statement.

Cebu, which operates ten A319s on domestic as well as regional routes, has thirty A321neo on order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) with options for ten more.

For its part, Allegiant operates seven A319s with thirteen additional jets, formerly with easyJet (London Luton), set to be acquired in due course.
