Aeroméxico (AM, México City International) is studying offerings from ATR - Avions de Transport Régional, Bombardier Aerospace, and Embraer ahead of an order for between 20 and 50 aircraft, destined for its Aerolitoral (Monterrey Mariano Escobedo) subsidiary.

"We are including in the analysis the new Embraer E-Jet, the Bombardier C-Series, and a pair of turboprops to see if it makes sense in some of the markets we operate in Mexico," CEO Andrés Conesa said.

The CEO added that Dash 8-400 and the ATR42/72 are being studied as part of the carrier's 10-year fleeting plan.

An order could be placed by the end of this year.

AeroMéxico Connect operates eight E170s, three E175s, twenty-nine E190s, and twenty-five E145s for and on behalf of its parent on flights across Mexico, the United States, and Central America. Aeromar Airlines (México City International) currently also operates two ATR72-600s as AeroMéxico Express.
