Afriqiyah Airways (8U, Tripoli Mitiga) will resume flights to neighbouring Tunisia on March 20 after authorities in Tunis partially reopened the country's airspace to Libyan carriers.

Initial services will include 3x weekly flights from Tripoli Mitiga and Misurata to Sfax, Afriqiyah said via social media. According to a NOTAM seen by ch-aviation, the Tunisian Ministry of Transport has limited the flights to both Mitiga and Misurata.

Among its North African neighbours, Morocco has sealed off its airspace to Libyan carriers while Egypt requires all flights between Libya, Turkey and Jordan to stop in Tobruk in eastern Libya to allow the country's internationally recognised government to screen out potential Islamic State terrorists.
