Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has taken delivery of its first of two A330-300s on 8-year lease contracts from Afriqiyah Airways (8U, Tripoli Mitiga). Research shows F-WWTS (cn 1499), now TC-JOM on the Turkish registry, was recently ferried from Teruel, Spain to Istanbul Atatürk where it is undergoing routine maintenance.

Its sister ship, F-WWCK (cn 1535), will join it later on this year and will be re-registered as TC-JON.

Owing to Libya's ongoing civil war, Afriqiyah has never deployed either of the two aircraft into commercial service despite taking delivery of them from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) late last year.
