Eastern Air Lines (2009) (Miami International) was officially awarded its Part 121 Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at a ceremony on Wednesday, May 13. The certificate authorizes Eastern to undertake commercial passenger charters using large aircraft.

The Floridian start-up has already announced it will offer charter flights for US war veterans between Miami International and Washington National on May 30 using its sole aircraft, a B737-800 N276EA (msn 35070).

Thereafter, it plans to expand its network plying charters from Miami to Latin America, Cuba, and the Caribbean.
