Vaasa Airport in western Finland has closed to all air traffic on account of renovation works to its sole runway, the 2,500m-long 16/34. The closure is effective June 22 and runs until July 26.

The cloest alternative airport is Kokkola/Pietarsaari that is served several times daily by Finnair (AY, Helsinki Vantaa) subsidiary NoRRA Nordic Regional Airlines (N7, Helsinki Vantaa) with ATR72-500s. Norwegian (Oslo Gardermoen) and SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) have temporarily suspended their flights linking Vaasa and Stockholm Arlanda.
