Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) says it will induct a maiden B747-400(F) into revenue service on August 1 to cater to growing demand in the charter market. Qatar Airways Chief Officer Cargo, Ulrich Ogiermann said in a statement that the aircraft, which features a wide side cargo door, would be replaced by a front-loading B747-400(F) in October 2015.

Alongside its existing fleet of eight B777-Fs and six A330-200Fs, Qatar Airways Cargo also has eight B777 Freighters on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) and two A330-200(F)s (with options for a further eight) on order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac).
