Scoot (TR, Singapore Changi) will assume fellow Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) affiliate SilkAir's 4x weekly Singapore Changi-Hangzhou operation with effect from October 25. Once under the LCC's control, the route will graduate to a 5x weekly B787-8-operated service from December 1.

"With Scoot operating the Singapore-Hangzhou route, this will better optimise the utilisation of the SIA Group’s resources and present a better match of capacity to demand," SilkAir said in a statement.

Scoot currently serves four other cities in China: Tianjin, Shenyang Taoxian International, Qingdao Jiaodong, and Nanjing.
