KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) has confirmed that it has converted six of its twenty-one B787-9s on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National), to B787-10s. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery from 2020 onwards.

The Dutch carrier is on track to take delivery of its first B787-9 - PH-BHA (msn 36113) - later next month in time for an October 25 debut on flights from Amsterdam Schiphol to Bahrain International via Abu Dhabi International.

In June, partner Air France (AF, Paris CDG) indicated that as part of the Franco-Dutch carrier's Perform 2020 strategic growth plan, it may defer deliveries of its first of twelve B787-9s, tentatively scheduled to arrive in November 2016, alongside its first of eighteen A350-900s on order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac).
