Philippine Airlines (PR, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) says it will undertake a restructuring of its domestic operations beginning November 9 of this year in a move that will see the carrier outsource its non-core services such as ground-handling to third party providers.

Up to 117 employees affected by the shake-up have already been given notice. Severance packages entail 125% of monthly basic salary for each year of service and a gratuity pay out of PHP100,000 (USD2,130).

The airline had 2,386 ground crew in the Philippines and 2,512 flight crew as of the end of 2014.
