Luxair (LG, Luxembourg) has acquired a B737-800 to cover an anticipated surge in winter demand as well as to cover Luxair Tours operations. Destined for Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel), LX-LBB (msn 36875) was never taken up by the German carrier and has instead been parked at Berlin Schönefeld for the past six months.

As such, the twinjet will replace another B737-800 - F-HJUL (msn 38819) which is wet-leased from XL Airways France (Paris CDG) - when it arrives in December.

Luxair also operates three other B737-800s, two B737-700s, six Dash 8-400s and four E145s.
