AirBlue (PA, Karachi International) has announced plans to resume longhaul flights to Europe following a near two-year long hiatus. In an announcement made via social media, the Pakistani carrier said Manchester International would be among its first destinations.

AirBlue dropped flights to Birmingham, GB and Manchester International in late 2013/early 2014 claiming at the time that it did not have the capacity to sustain its expansion into both Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.

The carrier maintains a single widebody aircraft in its fleet - A330-200 UR-WRQ (cn 296) on wet-lease from Ukraine's Windrose Airlines (7W, Kyiv Boryspil).
