Fuji Dream Airlines (JH, Shizuoka) president Yohei Suzuki has told the Chunichi Shimbun newspaper that his airline is planning to expand its operations during the course of the year with a new base and possible international operations on the cards.

According to the ZipanguFlyer blog, Fuji Dream is looking at Nagoya Chubu as a potential third base after Nagoya Komaki and Shizuoka. International charter flights are also being looked at; a first for an airline that until now, has focused on the Japanese domestic market exclusively.

Founded in 2008, Fuji Dream Airlines operates an all-Embraer fleet of three E170s and six E175s on flights to Aomori, Fukuoka, Hanamaki, Izumo, Kitakyushu, Kochi, JP, Kumamoto, Niigata, and Yamagata. It is also considering starting daytime Nagoya Chubu–Tokyo Narita flights to cater to international connecting passengers. Talks are reportedly in progress with undisclosed European and North American airlines over possible codeshare agreements.
