Kish Air (KIS, Tehran Mehrabad) has signed an agreement with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for the purchase of two A321-200s the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organisation has said. Speaking to Iran's Financial Tribune, Ali Asghar Mounesan said the two aircraft would be delivered in May.

“We will be able expand our routes and offer more flights with the new aircraft," he said adding that eight more undisclosed aircraft are expected to arrive this year.

With the lifting of international sanctions, aircraft manufacturers have been courting Iranian carriers in the hopes of securing large orders. Given Kish Air's past use of the Tu-154M, Russia last year attempted to sell the airline fifteen Tu-204(SM)s though no firm commitment was ever announced. Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf) products have also been considered.

At present, Kish Air operates three Fokker 100s, four MD-82s, and four MD-83s on flights throughout Iran as well as to Dubai International.
