IranAir (IR, Tehran Mehrabad) will take delivery of its first of twenty ATR72-600s on firm order from ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) in November of this year Thomas Enders, the chief executive of Airbus Group, has said. Speaking to the Tasnim news agency, Enders said deliveries would run until the end of 2018.

Iran Air, which has twenty additional options for the type, has already alluded to plans to set up a new air taxi service to cater to the country's smaller, regional centres.

ATR says it is also in talks with Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad) which is looking to renew its ageing fleet of six ATR72-500s.
