Elite Airways (MNU, Portland International Jetport) is planning to make its maiden foray into the Essential Air Services (EAS) contract market with the recent submission of two proposals to the US Department of Transportation (DOT): one for Kearney and another for North Platte. Both towns are in Nebraska.

In its two-year contract proposals, Elite Airways plans to base a CRJ200 in each of the towns in order to provide 12x weekly, separate return services to Denver International, where yet another CRJ-200 will be based. The annual subsidy being looked at for Kearney is USD4,192,662.57 while for North Platte it is USD4,663,782.27.

"This service meshes with our daily service out of Branson, Missouri and allows Elite Airways to have close fleet support in the case of irregular operations," it said.

At present, Elite Airways operates a fleet of seven CRJ-200s and four CRJ700s on scheduled flights between Melbourne, FL and Portland International Jetport, and from Naples Municipal to New York Newark.
