TransAviaBaltika (KTB, Kaunas International) has expressed an interest in undertaking the Estonian government's Public Service Obligation (PSO) routes between the capital, Tallinn Lennart Meri, and the islands of Kuressaare and Kärdla.

The Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications opened a tender for the flights earlier this month after incumbent operator Avies (Tallinn Lennart Meri) had its AOC suspended for six months.

Thus far, Nordica (ND, Tallinn Lennart Meri) and several other carriers have expressed an interest in taking over the contract which Tallinn hopes to have finalized by mid-summer.

For its part, TransAviaBaltika specializes in passenger and cargo charter flights employing a fleet of three Let 410s.
