Air Côte d'Ivoire (HF, Abidjan) has placed a firm order with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for two A320-200 (sl)s and two A320neos. The Ivorian national carrier says it has selected CFM engines to power the aircraft.

The order is Air Côte d’Ivoire's first such purchase from the European manufacturer and will see the carrier becoming the A320neo's African launch customer.

Air Côte d’Ivoire currently operates four A319-100s (two of which are dry-leased from Air France (AF, Paris CDG)), one A320-200 (wet-leased from Global Aviation Operations (GE, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo)), and four Dash 8-400s on flights throughout the Ivory Coast as well as to eighteen other countries located throughout West and Central Africa.
