Ruili Airlines (DR, Kunming Changshui) says it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for the purchase of six B787-9s at a ceremony for the airline's two-year anniversary.

The order is subject to the approval from the Chinese government, with AVIC International Leasing providing financial support.

Founded in 2013, the privately-owned carrier operates six B737-700s and three B737-800s on regular flights to sixteen destinations across China. It ordered thirty B737 MAX aircraft from Boeing in June last year.
