Lufthansa Group chief executive Carsten Spohr says the German carrier has revised its proposed plans insofar as collaboration with SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) is concerned.

Speaking in Dublin during the recent IATA AGM, Spohr told Reuters Lufthansa had decided not to invest in the Scandinavian carrier and would instead look at deepening cooperation between the two sides. Denmark's CheckIn.dk aviation news portal suggests "Scandinavianwings" could be a potential name for any SAS/Eurowings partnership.

In April, the newswire disclosed that talks had been ongoing since autumn of last year. Lufthansa was reportedly keen on acquiring a stake in SAS with a view to seeing it become a member of its Eurowings (EW, Düsseldorf) budget brand.
