GoAir (Mumbai International) is planning to venture into the international market next year India's Civil Aviation Secretary R N Choubey has said.

The delivery of the LCC's maiden A320neo earlier this month brought its fleet number to twenty and coupled with the fact that it is more than five years old (founded in 2005), it is now eligible under India's existing 5/20 rule to operate abroad.

As such, Choubey told The Economic Times in an interview that while GoAir has indicated an interest in serving the Gulf region as well as Europe, no official application has yet been submitted.

Using a fleet of twenty A320 Family jets, GoAir currently serves twenty-two destinations across India from bases at Delhi International, Bangalore International, Kolkata, and Mumbai International.
