Blue Panorama Airlines (Rome Fiumicino) has announced that its new holding company, Blue Panorama Airlines SpA, secured its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) and Air Services Licence (ASL) from the Italian civil aviation authority (Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile - ENAC) on Saturday, October 1.

Blue Panorama was granted bankruptcy protection in October 2012 before a series of financial difficulties forced it to apply for special administration in March 2014.

For the duration of proceedings, the carrier traded as Blue Panorama Airlines S.p.A. in AS (Amministrazione Straordinaria) with its previous, albeit now cancelled, AOC and ASL in the same name.

Aside from new licences, the leisure specialist said the Newco encompasses its entire workforce and also provides for the continuation of all flights.

Blue Panorama operates two B737-300s, two B737-400s, two B737-800s, and three B767-300(ER)s on charter as well as scheduled passenger flights between Italy and each of Cuba, Mexico, Albania, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and soon, Oman.
