Dniproavia (Dnipro) has cancelled all flights to Turkey for the duration of the upcoming winter season following a dispute between the Turkish and Ukrainian authorities over Turkish Airlines' access to Dnipro.

According to Ukraine's Avianews, the suspension of Dniproavia's daily Dnipro-Istanbul Atatürk flights will run from October 30, 2016 through to March 25, 2017.

The dispute with the Turks dates back to spring of this year when Dnipro airport refused to grant Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) afternoon slots offering them evening slots instead. It argued at the time that runway conditions at the airport required the shift in operational procedures.

However, even though the Turks later adapted their schedule accordingly, the Ukrainians then revoked Turkish Airlines' access to the airport leading Ankara to retaliate and revoke Dniproavia's Istanbul service rights.
