St. John's International Airport Authority (SJIAA) says National Airlines (N8, Orlando Sanford) has fully settled all outstanding invoices needed to secure the release of B757-200 N176CA (msn 24543).
The Newfoundland airport operator seized the aircraft on Friday, October 28 citing National's unpaid debts.
"The aircraft arrived [from Orlando Sanford] at approximately 4:30pm on Friday and was scheduled to depart St. John’s International Airport at 5:45pm that evening, but was not released for service pending payment of outstanding invoices," the airport said in a statement issued Monday, October 31.
Given the payment, SJIAA says it is now in the process of releasing the aircraft back to National.
