airBaltic (BT, Riga) has taken delivery of the world's first A220-300 following a handing-over ceremony at Montréal Mirabel on Monday, November 28.

YL-CSA (cn 55003) is due to be positioned to Riga on Thursday, December 1 in time for its commercial debut to Amsterdam Schiphol on Wednesday, December 14.

As the type's launch operator, the Latvian carrier has a total of twenty CS300s on order from Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau). The aircraft will be used to gradually replace airBaltic's existing fleet of seven B737-300s and five B737-500s.
