Sichuan Airlines (3U, Chengdu Shuangliu) has signed a longterm lease agreement with Air Lease Corporation for one A350-900. Sourced from the US-based lessor's Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) order book, the widebody jet is due for delivery during the first quarter of 2019.

The China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) subsidiary will use the A350-900 to primarily operate transpacific services to the US West Coast as well as Canada.

Sichuan Airlines currently operates twenty A319-100s, forty-nine A320-200s, thirty-three A321-200s, five A330-200s, and four A330-300s. Its first A320neo and A321neo, also leased from ALC, are due for delivery later this year.
