CityJet (WX, Dublin International) has signed a firm purchase agreement with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for six CRJ900s with options for an additional four aircraft. The agreement follows the signing of a conditional agreement on January 24, 2017.

Upon delivery, the aircraft will operate under wet-lease in the SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) network.

CityJet currently operates a fleet of eight CRJ-900s which are wet-leased to SAS under a white-label service agreement. The airline will also take delivery of four new CRJ-900 aircraft in early 2017 as per a previous order with the Canadian manufacturer signed in April 2016. Once delivered, they will bring CityJet's fleet of CRJ-900 aircraft to twelve.

As part of its recently announced acquisition of SAS's Danish production carrier Cimber (Sønderborg), CityJet will operate Cimber's fleet of eleven CRJ-900 aircraft also on wet-lease service with SAS. These aircraft will be replaced by up to ten additional CRJ-900 aircraft ordered under the above mentioned firm purchase agreement. Falko Regional Aircraft has since confirmed it will add the Cimber CRJ-900s to its portfolio.
