flydubai (FZ, Dubai International) has taken delivery of its maiden B737-8 following the handing over of A6-MAX (msn 60966) at Seattle Boeing Field on Monday, July 31.

The Dubai-based budget carrier has a total of seventy-five of the type on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) with options for twenty-five more.

Earlier this year, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ghaith Al Ghaith told the Emirates News Agency in an interview that flydubai expects to add a total of six MAX 8s during the second half of this year.

flydubai currently operates fifty-three B737-800s on scheduled passenger flights to ninety-seven destinations in forty-four countries ranging from Russia in the north, to Czechia in the west, Thailand in the east, and Tanzania in the south.
