Norwegian (Oslo Gardermoen) has announced plans to open a pilot base at Dublin International later this year. The Irish capital is currently home to its Norwegian Air International (Dublin International) unit. Focus has been placed on recruiting flight crews for the B737-8 which it plans to deploy on services throughout Europe as well as across the Atlantic.

“The base will initially include approximately 40 pilots but Norwegian is also exploring options for further pilot and cabin crew positions at the base next summer,” the carrier said in a recruitment notice.

Norwegian operates multiple bases across the globe including Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Barcelona El Prat, Bergen, Boston, Copenhagen Kastrup, Fort Lauderdale International, London Gatwick, New York JFK, New York Newark, Oslo Gardermoen, Paris CDG, Rome Fiumicino, Stavanger, Stockholm Arlanda, and Trondheim.
