Luk Aero (Almaty International) is the new name of Kazakh airline Eastern Express (Kazakhstan) (Almaty International) that plans to offer chartered flights to Turkey and Crete effective June 15. Flights will operate from Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev, Almaty International and Karaganda using a pair of Airbus A320-200s, one of which, UR-CKR (c/n 407), is operated by Aviatrans K (Kyiv Igor Sikorsky). According to the airline's vice CEO, Ilya Lee, in winter the airline intends to start direct flights to the UAE, Thailand, India, China and Vietnam with plans to acquire further aircraft in the future.
