The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) has dismissed Utility Aviation's application for authority to engage in scheduled operations after the carrier failed to provide additional required information.

Utility Aviation (Fort Collins/Loveland) applied for the authority in July 2016 and proposed deploying Eurocopter AS355s on regular flights to various FAA-approved helipads in New York City as well as: Kearny, NJ; Montauk; East Hampton Bistrians Heliport, New York JFK; New York Newark; New York La Guardia; Teterboro; White Plains; and out of Temple, TX.

In its application, Utility failed to submit its balance sheet and income statement for 2016. Additionally, the DOT found its financial projections were confusing and did not identify lease, landing and fuel costs, or overhead expenses.

The Colorado-based helicopter operator is a subsidiary of Brunner Aerospace, which acquired it in mid-2015, through which it provides air services in challenging environments.
