Rectrix Aviation (Bedford, MA) has received authorisation from the US Transport Security Administration (TSA) to operate charter flights into Washington National airport out of its privately owned terminals at each of Bedford, MA and Sarasota/Bradenton.

"Washington, D.C. is a major daily business destination and there is not a more convenient airport in the D.C. area than Reagan National because of its proximity to federal offices, the White House and the U.S. Capitol," Rectrix CEO Richard Cawley has said.

Washington National airport is subject to specific security regulations introduced after the September 11 terrorist attacks. Only a handful of business charter specialists have received TSA authorisation to serve the capital gateway, Rectrix underlined in a statement.

Rectrix Aviation operates a fleet of five Learjet 45(XR)s, two Beech (twin turboprop) 300 Super King Airs, two Challenger 300s, and one Cessna (twin piston) 402C. Although the carrier specialises in business charters, in October 2016 it launched its first ever scheduled service connecting Hyannis and Nantucket, later supplemented by routes of Hyannis to each of New York La Guardia and Worcester Regional.
