Rectrix Aviation (Bedford, MA) has indicated with a posting on its website that it has suspended its Rectrix Shuttle scheduled operations as of December 2. As a result of its decision, the operator is withdrawing its flights between Worcester Regional and Hyannis which were flown by one of Rectrix's Beech (twin turboprop) King Air 300s.

The service was originally launched in 2017 and in the past, Rectrix has also operated commercial services from Hyannis to Nantucket and New York La Guardia. It had received its DOT authority to engage in scheduled passenger operations as a commuter air carrier in July 2016.

The King Air aircraft will return to the operator's charter fleet, "until such time as the Shuttle scheduled service is resumed." Rectrix's website indicates that it operates a mixed fleet of Bombardier Challenger 604s, Challenger 300s, and Learjet 45s, as well as the King Airs.

Speaking about the cessation of the Shuttle flights, the operator's statement said: "We humbly thank the community we have had the privilege to serve on our airline. We truly hope to one day serve the Cape, Islands and metro NY area once again in the very near future."

Earlier this year, Ross Aviation (Albuquerque International) completed the takeover of Rectrix, although the latter retained its brand) as a part of its strategy to grow its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) business.

In addition to its home base in Bedford, Rectrix has Fixed Base Operations (FBO) in Worcester, Springfield Westfield Barnes Regional, Hyannis, and Sarasota/Bradenton.
