Gambia Bird (Banjul) is set to resume operations to Monrovia Roberts and Freetown after the Gambian government lifted a ban on flights to and from Liberia and Sierra Leone. Other carriers serving the Gambian capital from Sierra Leone are Arik Air (W3, Lagos) and ASKY Airlines (KP, Lomé).

"The general public is hereby informed that airlines serving Banjul and the sub-region can now pick up passengers in Liberia and Sierra Leone," the Gambian Ministry of Transport said in a statement. A further statement on the status of Conakry, Guinea flights is expected in due course.

In mid-April, strongman president Yahya Jammeh ordered all airlines serving Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone to suspend their flights in a bid to prevent the spread of the deadly Ebola virus.
