Boeing (BOE, Washington National) is reportedly in talks with China's ICBC Leasing over the proposed onward placement of B747-8(F) freighters with Asiana Airlines (OZ, Seoul Incheon). According to sources who spoke to Bloomberg newswire on condition of anonymity, the deal could entail "four or five" freighters and is valued at USD1.8billion.

Asiana currently operates a fleet of ten B747-400(F)s on flights throughout South East Asia, Europe, Russia, and the United States.

The ch-aviation aircraft database shows local rival Korean Air (KE, Seoul Incheon) already operates five B747-8(F)s while regional competitors Cathay Pacific (CX, Hong Kong International) and NCA - Nippon Cargo Airlines (KZ, Tokyo Narita) operate thirteen and five respectively.
