Emirates (EK, Dubai International) resumed its Peshawar services with effect from July 24 while rival Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) intends to resume its flights to the north-western Pakistani city on August 1. Both carriers hesitated to resume flights to Peshawar in the wake of an attack on a PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International) A310-300 while on finals into the airport's runway 35. The incident left three injured and one passenger dead.
