flynas (XY, Riyadh) has terminated its presence in the international longhaul market with Jeddah International and Riyadh to London Gatwick services having ended on October 25.

"As the load factors on the above routes have not met the company’s commercial expectations, flynas is concentrating on enhancing its performance by focusing strongly on its successful domestic and regional services," the Saudi budget carrier said in a statement.

Dubbed "Global Flight Routes", flynas had intended to use its international expansion to anchor its ambitious growth plans.

Other destinations that are to be affected include Islamabad International, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta, Karachi International, London Heathrow, and Peshawar.

With the end of the flights, Hi Fly (5K, Beja) has also confirmed to ch-aviation that its lease agreement with the Saudis entailing one A330-200 and two A330-300s, will also end this November.

As it stands, flynas continues to operate twenty-four A320-200s on domestic and regional routes. It has also sourced two B767-300(ER)s leased from euroAtlantic Airways (YU, Lisbon), one B747-400(M) leased from Malaysia's Eaglexpress Air Charter (Kuala Lumpur International), and two B747-400s leased from Indonesia's Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta), for use on Hajj charter flights.
