Emirates (EK, Dubai International) along with Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) and four other carriers have once more suspended flights to the northern Pakistani city of Peshawar. The move comes after terrorists loyal to Tehreek-e-Taliban attacked a Pakistani army-run school in the city on Tuesday killing 141 people, including 132 school children and nine school employees.

In the wake of the attack and as a safety precaution, affected airlines have now begun transferring their respective staff to Islamabad.

Aside from the two Emirati-based carriers, Peshawar is also served by PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International), Air Arabia (G9, Sharjah), Air Indus (MPK, Karachi International), AirBlue (PA, Karachi International), Gulf Air (GF, Bahrain International), Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International), Saudia (SV, Jeddah International), and Shaheen Air International (Karachi International).
