RwandAir (WB, Kigali) has been granted 5th Freedom traffic rights for flights between Entebbe and Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta by the Ugandan government, adding to a similar arrangement for flights between Entebbe and the South Sudanese capital, Juba. Tambo.

The announcement follows the signing of a Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) between Rwanda and Kenya late last year which awarded both RwandAir and Kenya Airways (KQ, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) fifth freedom traffic rights to Entebbe - Nairobi and Entebbe - Kigali.

With increased competition on regional East and Central African routes, Kenya has now granted Kenya Airways' LCC subsidiary Jambojet (JM, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) clearance to begin international operations to Entebbe, Juba, Kigali, Bujumbura, Addis Ababa International as well as Mwanza, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, and Zanzibar in Tanzania.
