PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International) is in talks with Turkey's Pegasus Airlines (PC, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) over the proposed wet-lease of a quartet of B737-800s Pakistan aviation officials have told the SriLankaMirror news site.

A team from the Turkish carrier was in Pakistan last week concerning the proposed contract. Earlier this year, PIA issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) to all eligible parties for the wet-lease of four aircraft for three months (extendable) with 275 guaranteed block hours per month from December onwards.

Bid evaluation documents seen by ch-aviation indicate that Pegasus Airlines' proposal - B737-800s msn 40722, 40876, 40697, and 40720 - was named the preferred bid followed by Corendon Airlines (XC, Antalya) (three B737-800s), Travel Service Airlines (Prague Václav Havel) (one B737-800), AtlasGlobal (Istanbul Airport) (two A320-200s), and Bulgaria Air (FB, Sofia) (two A320-200s).

Bids from Travel Service for one B737-900(ER) and one B737-800 and one from ASL Airlines were rejected owing to incomplete documentation.

The evaluation of an RFP for the dry-lease of four similarly configured narrowbody aircraft on six-year contracts beginning in 2017, has yet to be released.
