Inter Island Airways Fiji (Suva) has revised its December 2013 start-up plans and now intends to launch domestic air services on March 17, 2014 using an initial fleet of four Do228s and one Do328-100. Initially, island-hopper services will connect both Nadi and Suva with Labasa, Savusavu, Taveuni, Kadavu Island and Rotuma Island. Pending authorization from the Fijian Air Transport Licensing Board (ATLB), expansion to include Tuvalu, Wallis & Futuna, Samoa, American Samoa, Niue and Tonga is now planned for late-2014/early 2015, using both CRJ200ER and CRJ700 jets.
