AirAsia Group unit sets up wholly-owned Chinese firm

AirAsia Group has announced that its wholly-owned unit, AirAsia Investment Ltd (AAIL), has been given approval by the local Chinese government for a business license. AAIL has since incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary known as AirAsia (Guangzhou) Aviation Service Limited Co. (AAGASL).

Fly Modern Ark (Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) has submitted a proposal to the Zimbabwean government in which the South African start-up would equip Air Zimbabwe (UM, Harare Int'l) with Xian Aircraft Company turboprop equipment in return for a 25% stake in the state-owned airline.

Canadian regulator suspends West Wind Aviation's AOC

Transport Canada suspended the air operator's certificate (AOC) of West Wind Aviation (WEW, Saskatoon) on December 22, 2017, as a result of an investigation related to the crash of the airline's ATR 42-320 on December 13 in northern Saskatchewan.
