Air Mauritius (MK, Mauritius) took delivery of its first A330-900neo on April 18. The Rolls-Royce Trent 7000-72 powered aircraft is equipped with 260 seats in Economy and 28 seats in Business Class. It is the first of two units the Mauritian national carrier will lease from Air Lease Corporation.

Bristow Group has warned that it may "not be successful in complying with the covenants contained in our debt instruments and lease agreements".

In a stock market filing, the firm said it had entered into waiver letters with its secured equipment financing lenders waiving "certain events of default (...) until June 19, 2019, subject to the delivery of the December 31, 2018 financial statements by such date and certain other conditions". The waivers allow Bristow to defer interest payments on secured and convertible notes due in 2023....

Atran (V8, Moscow Vnukovo) has launched a new route linking Xi'an Xianyang with Moscow Sheremetyevo with the first flight taking place on April 14 using B737-400(F) VQ-BVF (msn 29001) and operating via Novosibirsk.

Vietnam Airlines (VN, Hanoi) has issued a request for proposals for the dry-lease of five regional jets to be delivered in 2020.

The request is for five new either E175Plus or CRJ-900 aircraft. The tentative delivery schedule foresees two aircraft to be delivered in the first and three aircraft in the second quarter of 2020.

Prior to issuing this current RfP, Vietnam Airlines was looking for two aircraft of either type for six-month wet-lease contracts last year, although the Vietnamese national carrier did not actually end...

World Sonic Air (Aruba) has secured an Air Operator's Certificate in Aruba and is planning to operate a single VIP-configured B787-8(BBJ), AINonline has reported.

The carrier is a wholly-owned subsidiary of business charter specialist Hongkong Jet (Hong Kong Int'l).

Just days after the grounding of Jet Airways (9W, Mumbai Int'l) due to massive debts, fellow Indian airline Air India (AI, Mumbai Int'l) said it lacked as much as INR90 billion rupees (USD1.3 billion) needed for the repayment of debt due in the current fiscal year.

Viet Nam's Hai Au Aviation to launch coastal air taxis

Hai Au Aviation (HAI, Hanoi) will launch scheduled air taxi flights between Hue Phu Bai Int'l and Da Nang on Viet Nam's central coast on April 25, 2019.

According to the carrier's website, flights will operate daily with Cessna (single turboprop) 208EX Grand Caravan seaplanes.

The carrier also operates scheduled daily flights between Hanoi and Ha Long Bay via Haiphong and Tuan Chau Island in northern Viet Nam, as well as scenic and charter flights.

Air India (AI, Mumbai Int'l) has applied to State Bank of India to lease five B777-300(ER)s previously operated by inactive Jet Airways (9W, Mumbai Int'l), Times of India has reported.

The privately-owned carrier operated ten Boeing widebodies. Although it formally owned the aircraft, US EXIM Bank issued a notice to repossess them in early April. The ten units were acquired with the American institution's financial guarantees.

Air France-KLM said it will add capacity to India to minimise travel disruptions for passengers originally booked on the group's commercial partner Jet Airways (9W, Mumbai Int'l), which suspended operations on April 17.

"Depending on their operational capacities and needs, Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines are increasing the number of seats available to and from India by operating higher capacity aircraft or increasing the number of frequencies," the Franco-Dutch holding said in a statement....
