Fly Baghdad (IF, Baghdad) took delivery of its first CRJ900 on lease from Avmax Aircraft Leasing after C-GXIG (msn 15059) was ferried on June 29-30, 2023, from Calgary via Iqaluit, Reykjavik Keflavik, and Prague Václav Havel, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. The 17.5-year-old regional jet was previously placed with Arik Air (W3, Lagos) and is the only CRJ900 owned by Avmax, the ch-aviation fleets module shows.

"The introduction of larger regional jets to its fleet further signifies Fly Baghdad's dedication to expansion and meeting the growing demands of its passengers," the airline said.

The aircraft marks a return to regional jet operations for Fly Baghdad, following the retirement of its only CRJ200, YI-BAH (msn 7984) , in mid-2022. which remains available for sale at Riga.

The privately-owned carrier also operates one B737-700, five B737-800s, and two B737-900ERs. Fly Baghdad recently divulged plans to add two B737-800(F)s and one A330-200 in an interview with ch-aviation, although it stayed mute on its regional jet plans then.
