As it prepares to launch operations at the end of 2024, flyv (Germany) has announced a strategic route development partnership with Norrköping Airport in Sweden to expand low-cost ad-hoc regional air services with nine-seater Tecnam P2012s.

The aircraft will be based at Norrköping. "As we roll out flyv, it is vitally important to have supportive airport partners who can help us position and market our services and help us attract investors," explained Chief Executive Officer Anton Lutz. "We have been speaking with the airport since the summer, and they are completely on board with our philosophy."

Situated 135km southwest of Stockholm, Norrköping Airport has welcomed flyv's commitment to sustainable air travel. Business Development Manager Svante Swärd Rudström said the airport was also exploring sustainability initiatives like on-site solar installations and green hydrogen production.

Initially starting with four Tecnam P2012 Travellers, flyv plans to grow its fleet to more than 50 aircraft in the next decade to enhance connectivity in rural European areas using smaller airports. The company recently signed a letter of intent with US-Israeli electric aircraft developer Eviation for 25 electric Alice aircraft, complementing the Electra.aero hybrid aircraft commuter liner.

On its own air operator certificate (AOC), flyv plans to operate a core network within Europe, starting with Germany and Sweden and adding countries dependent on new partnerships.
